In 2001, HealthSonix began its research activities in sound-based therapy to manage pain after learning of the success of the medical application of sound vibration to promote healing and the reduction of stress in hospitals in Scandinavian countries. Following its own laboratory research on people with pain, the company discovered that those with arthritis in particular had a significant reduction in pain and other symptoms of arthritis.
